As every year, Guild Wars also gets its fair slice of April Fool's Day. Last year, all Guild Wars players were turned into 3D stick figures. The year before that, all Guild Wars characters' gender was changed, i.e. male players were turned into female players and vice versa. This year, every Guild Wars player was turned into a so-called "Gwen chan" doll. Senator Striking Mei has taken the liberty of making a short in-game video of all the possible emotes and actions such a Gwen chan doll can do. Comments are welcome on the Forum Romanum.

This weekend, starting on Friday 19:00 GMT, all Guild Wars players can earn double faction and double Gladiator points while in Team Arena's or Random Arena's. This bonus will last until next Monday, 06:59 GMT time. So be sure to sharpen your gladius, as us Romans love a good arena!

There is currently a discussion going on in the Senate at Forum Romanum on the purpose of the Legionary and Senator of the Month elections respectively. To have a rough estimation of what the public opinion is on this issue, a poll has been created - you can find it in the left navigation bar. Please note that this poll is of no direct influence on whether the elections actually get abolished or not!

A brief explaination of the procedure on Senator and Legionary of the Month elections will be explained further in this message. At the end of every month, Roman Legionaries (the guild members of Legio Romana) cast their votes in a poll to determine which Senator they believed was the most helpful, dedicated and active in the guild for that respective month. Senators do the same for Legionaries in their own forum. When the polls are then finally concluded, Caesar Mar Eyskor announces both the Senator and Legionary of the Month. This system was initially set in place under the former Caesar Aurelius Sancti, to have some public recognition of those who put in effort for the greater good. However, current opposition claims that these Member of the Month elections no longer add any value at present day.
